Hi-Fidelity

Design

The design phase of Trak focused on creating an intuitive interface that prioritizes both social connection and fitness tracking. A strong emphasis was placed on integrating vibrant, motivating colors and a familiar social media-like layout to encourage interaction. Every design choice was made to ensure users could easily navigate the app and stay motivated in their fitness journey.

Sketches

Below are a few of my initial wireframe sketches and notes. It is worth stating that while not all sketches were used moving forward with the design process, all of them were an incubator for a better and more enjoyable end product.

Prototype Testing

Throughout testing, users were having trouble differentiating between content on the feed.

⭐️ Small spacing components were introduced between posts and relative content that would otherwise be difficult to visually separate as a user.

Outcome

Designing Trak highlighted the importance of balancing functionality with emotional engagement. By focusing on clear data presentation and a user-friendly and socially focused interface, the design gives users a way to stay motivated without feeling overwhelmed. This project reinforced how thoughtful design choices can elevate the user experience while encouraging their personal growth.

Define

The Problem

There is a gap between individual activity and meaningful social engagement within running apps, in addition to the consistency of overwhelming data interpretation. Users crave real-time human connections, immediate and easy-to-understand feedback, and a sense of belonging that goes beyond basic activity sharing.

The Solution

The solution lies in designing TRAK with a user-centric approach that prioritizes social and community features. This involves creating an intuitive, yet familiar interface where runners can easily access social tools, such as instant messaging, user profiles, and community feeds.
